Job Description:
As a WordPress Developer at City Eats, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. You will work closely with our design and marketing teams to implement new features, optimize existing functionality, and ensure that our websites are running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new features and functionality on WordPress sites.
- Establish and guide the website’s architecture.
- Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS.
- Build user-friendly, SEO-optimized websites that adhere to the latest web standards.
- Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to create and manage site content.
- Customize WordPress themes to fit brand requirements.
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
- Conduct website performance tests and monitor website traffic.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio of WordPress projects.
- Proficient in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
- Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and the WordPress architecture.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Strong understanding of website performance and optimization techniques.
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages.
- Familiarity with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with eCommerce platforms, such as WooCommerce.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation.
- Experience with website security best practices.
- Understanding of website accessibility standards.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies.
